Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ is set at the end of World War I. Clifford returns to the estate, paralyzed by combat injuries, leaving his wife Colonel out in the cold.
In the spring, she meets Mellors, the woodland janitor employed by the estate, in the forest. She feels tempted by his sturdy body and, despite class and moral taboos, throws herself into the fire and re-experiences the taste of love.
Colonel had always wanted a child, and with Clifford’s acquiescence, she had the Mellors’ baby.
Just as Colonel was on vacation with his sister Hilda in the south of France, Mellors’ original wife returned.
Finally, the lovers in love decided to divorce their respective spouses and start a new life together.
‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ has been adapted into films several times, and the whole of Europe, along with Hollywood, considers it an excellent source for adaptation.
According to the plan, the department ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ will be directed by French female director Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre.
The new director, who previously made the technically stunning ‘The Mustang’ in 2019, won the Independent Filmmaker Award at the 29th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards.
This version of ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ has excellent appeal in terms of subject matter, topicality, and the creators behind the scenes.
