After fierce competition, “In the Heights” actress Leslie Grace emerged from the four candidates to become the heroine of the new DC film “Batgirl”.
Leslie Grace happily said on the social platform: “I don’t know what to say anymore, I can’t believe what I am writing. Thank you DC for accepting me into the big family. I am ready to contribute everything I have.”
The film will be written by Christina Hodson (“Bumblebee”) and directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, director of “Bad Boys for Life”, and will be launched directly on HBO Max in the future.
This project has been in operation for many years. Joss Whedon worked as a director and screenwriter, and left in 2018 after a year of development.
As a popular heroine in DC comics, many characters have used the title of Batgirl.
One of the most famous is Barbara Gordon, she is the daughter of Chief Gordon and the protagonist of the film.
This role has appeared many times in the film and television works of “Batman”, and has served as the heroine of the animation “The Lego Batman Movie”, but she has never had her own independent movie.
Like Batman, Batgirl has no superpowers, but she is good at fighting and possesses various high-tech equipment.
