According to foreign media reports, the highly anticipated annual sci-fi masterpiece “Dune” in Mainland China has been set for October 22.

But “Dune” has been screened in 24 overseas markets since September 15th, with $36.8 million in the first weekend.

Among the 28 markets opened in advance, Russia topped the list with $7.6 million in box office revenue, France ranked second with $7.5 million, and Germany ranked third with $4.9 million.

“Dune” is directed by Denis Villeneuve, director of “Arrival” and “Blade Runner 2049”, and is adapted from the classic science fiction literature of the same name.

“Dune” will only be available in North America, Mainland China and HBO Max on October 22.
