The media rating for “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” was lifted today, with IGN giving “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” a 7 out of 10. Think it not only continues the humor and charm of the first “Sonic the Hedgehog”, but also stays true to the original.
IGN: 7 points good
“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” improves on “Sonic the Hedgehog” in many ways, but falls short in a few others.
It’s closer than ever to the Sonic franchise, and fans of the game should be thrilled to see their favorite characters recreated in such adorable form on the big screen in theaters.
Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are all very entertaining, and Jim Carrey has a wonderfully exaggerated rendition of Dr. Ivo Robotnik. While it’s not known how long the film will take to bring out the rest of the human characters, it’s definitely taking longer than it currently does.
