Rachel Zegler (“Snow White” “West Side Story”) will play Lucy Gray Baird, the lead actress in the prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” in the “The Hunger Games” series has been confirmed, according to media reports.
Previously, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” had already confirmed the male lead: Tom Blyth played the young Snow in the film. The film will be released in Northern America on November 17 next year.

“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” is based on Suzanne Collins’ new book of the same name and is set a few years before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrant of Shi Huiguo.
At 18, Snow is handsome and charming, and despite his difficult family circumstances, he sees an opportunity to change his fortunes: He has been chosen to be a mentor for the tenth Hunger Games.
Snow is sent to instruct Lucy Gray Baird, a girl from the impoverished 12th district, who catches everyone’s attention by singing defiantly during the harvest ceremony.

Thinking they could turn the tide in their favor, Snow united their instinctive acting skills and newfound political skills in a race against time in a survival game to finally reveal who was the songbird and who was the snake.
“The Hunger Games” series director Francis Lawrence returns to direct the prequel, with the latest script written by Michael Lesslie (“Macbeth” “Assassin’s Creed” “The Little Drummer Girl”) and Michael Arndt (“Inside Out” “Toy Story 3”). “”Little Miss Sunshine”) participated in the creation.
