All three members of the series will return for “Scream 5,” with new cast members including Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega and Jack Quaid.

Paramount Pictures wrote in the official synopsis for “Scream 5”: “Twenty-five years after the horrific serial murders in the small town of Woodsboro, another killer has once again donned a grimace mask. A group of teenagers are on the hunt for their targets, while gradually uncovering the town’s dark past.”

The brand-new “Scream 5” film is the first sequel since original creator Wes Craven’s tragic passing in 2015.

Paramount has tapped two of the directors who directed the critically acclaimed black comedy “Ready or Not.”

“They actually wrote me a letter saying they were basically inspired by the Scream series to become directors,” Courteney Cox said in an interview.

She continued: “They became directors because of Wes Craven, and they are very excited to have the opportunity to be part of this series. It is a great honor for them to pay tribute to Wes Craven and his legend.”

“Scream 5”, created with love and respect, is sure to be popular.
