Released in limited theaters in the U.S., Spain and Argentina, with a worldwide expansion on November 18.
‘BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths’ will be the first to make its world premiere in the main competition of the Venice International Film Festival.
Described as a nostalgic nostalgic comedy, the film focuses on the grand personal adventure of a well-known Mexican journalist & documentary filmmaker (played by Daniel Giménez Cacho) who returns home to deal with his own existential crisis, his identity, family ties, memories and his country’s past. In order to reconcile with his present-day self, he looks to the past for answers.
Darius Khondji (‘Uncut Gems’ ‘The Lost City of Z’) served as cinematographer, shot in 65mm format.
