The HBO Max crime suspense drama “The Staircase” starring Colin Firth and “Hereditary” actress Toni Collette has revealed a new official trailer and poster. It will be launched on May 5, with a total of 8 episodes.
Antonio Campos (“The Devil All the Time””The Sinner”) directed six of the episodes, and “Fear Street” series director Leigh Janiak directed the other two.
Juliette Binoche, Rosemarie DeWitt, Parker Posey, Sophie Turner, Odessa Young, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Dane DeHaan, Olivia DeJonge, Tim Guinee, Michael Stuhlbarg and more co-star.
Based on a true story, the series focuses on the famous American “staircase murder”, which was made into documentary series “The Staircase” (2004) and “The Staircase: An American Murder Mystery” (2018) .
The story revolves around the ins and outs of novelist Michael Peterson accused of murdering his wife Kathleen.
Faith plays Michael Peterson, Collette plays Michael’s wife Kathleen, DeWitt plays Peterson’s sister, and Posey plays Freda Black, the prosecutor in the Peterson case.
