General comments:

‘Pinocchio’ is further proof that Disney’s live-action remake of a classic animated film is a mediocre act. Its lack of any cinematic, originality or even longevity comes from their so many attempts. This is the number one problem they have to face. In this remake, there are too many homages to the 1940 animated film, but the script itself is obviously limited as a result. The movie is occasionally beautifully rendered, but the script seems so cutthroat. Traditional twang and modern chic often alternate, and worse still are the film’s anachronistic lines. Aside from the unexpected ending, the director is basically doing an exact imitation of the original film. Although Tom Hanks tries his best, even he can’t save the film.
