Alexandra Shipp joins the live-action Barbie doll movie “Barbie,” in an undisclosed role.
“Barbie” is adapted from the well-known toy IP of the same name. Margot Robbie plays Barbie, Ryan Gosling plays Barbie’s boyfriend Ken, and America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, and Ariana Greenblatt also star.

Greta Gerwig (“Little Women” “Lady Bird”) directed and wrote the screenplay with husband Noah Baumbach. The film is about to start filming and is expected to be released next year.
