‘Terminator: Dark Fate‎’ director Tim Miller admits the film failed because of himself

After the success with ‘Deadpool’, director Tim Miller decided to direct the movie ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’, but the film performed mediocre after its release in 2019.

At the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ director Tim Miller participated in the Director’s Talks event, talking about the film and candidly admitting the film’s failures and blaming himself for the problems.

Tim Miller said, “Maybe I was too stubborn, I thought if I was determined to make a good movie in my ideal way, then the movie would be successful, but I was wrong and I messed up the movie.”

‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ is the sequel to ‘The Terminator’ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, the latter two films being directed by James Cameron.

Although ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ featured such superstars as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Mackenzie Davis, its box office recouped only $261 million worldwide, which is a big drop from its predecessor, 2015 ‘s ‘Terminator Genisys’ saw a large decline compared to its predecessor, which grossed more than $440 million.

It is worth noting that ‘The Terminator’ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ director James Cameron also participated in the film’s executive producer work, but also did not get very good results, the film’s box office is even the worst of all the sequels in the bottom of the results.

Cameron had also previously gone public with his spat with Miller, saying there were many disagreements over editing choices.
