Viggo Mortensen, the famous actor who played Aragorn in the “The Lord of the Rings” series, appeared to “completely forget” the Amazon series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” in an interview, according to media sources.

He was asked in an interview if he “would see this prequel series (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” tells the origin of those “Rings of Power” before “The Lord of the Rings”).”

And Viggo Mortensen said: “What is that? Is it a TV show? Is it with Apple or some other company?”

The interviewer explained that the show, which is being produced by Amazon, is considered one of the “most expensive” shows ever, with an estimated cost of more than $1 billion.

“Oh, well. Yeah, I’ll watch it,” Mortensen said, before asking about the episode.

After learning that the show was based on Tolkien’s novel of the same name, Mortensen said, “It’s so cool, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 1‎ will begin streaming on Amazon on September 2nd, directed by J.A. Bayona and Wayne Yip, starring Lenny Henry, Peter Mullan and more.
