The trailer of the “new” experimental animation “Mad God” created by the legendary stop-motion animator Phil Tippett, who is well-known for “Star Wars” and “Jurassic Park”.

Now he is about to complete “Mad God”, a bizarre and beautiful science fiction horror epic that has been developed for more than 30 years.

Before the premiere of the feature film at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, Tippett released a trailer for “Mad God”.

“Mad God” was conceived by Tippett, and all the scenes, creatures and environments were hand-made and filmed in his studio in Berkeley, California.

Tippett initially produced a few minutes of footage for “Mad God” before shelving the project in 1990.

In 2012, the project was relaunched as a Kickstarter, and finally crowdfunding supported the creation of three short films.

The creative team is composed of students from the local art school and long-term industry veterans.

To date, the project has attracted more than 2,500 supporters who have pledged to provide US$124,156.

“Mad God” will premiere at the Locarno Film Festival on August 5.
