According to media reports, the classic animation IP “Garfield” will launch a new animation film.
It has been officially confirmed that “Star-Lord” Chris Pratt will play the voice of Garfield, the protagonist who hates Monday and loves lasagna.
At present, “Garfield” has not disclosed the release schedule, and the main creative staff has confirmed the director and screenwriter.
This new “Garfield” movie is produced by Aiken Entertainment and released by Sony Pictures. It will be released worldwide and the release date has not yet been announced.
The script was written by Oscar nominee David Reynolds (“Finding Nemo”), and Mark Dindal (“Chicken Little”) was the director.
The two had previously collaborated on Disney’s “The Emperor’s New Groove”.
Garfield is an anime character created by Jim Davis, and it first appeared in a manga in 1978.

“Garfield” was first published in 41 newspapers, and it is currently the most widely reproduced comic strip in the world.

The two films were produced by 20th Century Fox, with Bill Murray dubbing Garfield.
Chris Pratt’s dubbing work also includes “The Lego Movie”, Pixar’s “Onward”, and the upcoming Universal and Nintendo’s “Super Mario Bros.: The Movie” (voicing for Mario).
Chris Pratt recently starred in the sci-fi movie “The Tomorrow War” and will return to theaters with “Jurassic World 3” in June next year.
