Sydney Sweeney will star in an untitled new film focusing on famed whistleblower Reality Winner. tina Satter makes her feature film directorial debut, inspired by her play “Is This A Room,” with Josh Hamilton (“13 Reasons Why”), Marchánt Davis (” Journal for Jordan”) also starred.
Winner is a former U.S. intelligence expert who was arrested on June 3, 2017, while employed by military contractor Pluribus International Corporation for allegedly leaking intelligence about Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election to news website The Intercept.
The intelligence stated that Russian hackers accessed the U.S. voter registration rolls through an email phishing operation, but it is unclear if any changes were made.
Winner was sentenced in 2018 to serve the maximum sentence of five years and three months in federal prison.
