Recently, ‘The Hunger Games’ series of prequel films ‘The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes’, once again revealed the casting news, Josh Andrés Rivera officially joined the cast, he will star in the film with Rachel Zegler.
Previously, they had worked together on ‘West Side Story’. Interestingly, in real life, they are also boyfriend and girlfriend, and Rivera’s character will be Snow’s friend.
‘The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes’ is based on the new book of the same name by original author Suzanne Collins, set years before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical president of the Benefactor State.
Handsome and charming at 18, Snow sees a chance to change his fate despite the decline of his family: he is chosen to be a mentor for the tenth Hunger Games.
Snow is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a girl from impoverished District 12, and the two unite their instinctive acting skills with their newfound political skills in a race against time to reveal who is the songbird and who is the snake in a game of survival.
‘The Hunger Games’ series director Francis Lawrence returns to direct the prequel, with Michael Arndt (‘Inside Out’, ‘Toy Story 3’, ‘Little Miss Sunshine’) writing the script.
Currently, ‘The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes’ is scheduled for release in Northern America on November 17, 2023.
