Poster for the late diva singer Whitney Houston’s biopic “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, which hits theaters December 23 in Northern America.
Naomi Ackie (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker””The End of the F***ing World”) plays Houston, and Moses Ingram (“The Queen’s Gambit”) plays Houston’s longtime assistant and creative director Robyn Crawford.
After Houston’s death, Crawford revealed in the book that the two were lovers.
“I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, directed by “Talk to Me” director Kasi Lemmons, was approved by Houston’s estate committee.
The film is described as “a joyous, emotional and heartbreaking tribute to the life and music of the greatest R&B female singer of all time, charting her journey from obscurity to superstardom”.
