Netflix will suspend original production in Russia

Streaming company Netflix will suspend production of all Russian projects, as well as suspend acquisitions of Russian shows and movies, according to Deadline.

In addition, Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings announced a donation of $1 million to the non-profit organization Razom (founded by Ukrainian Americans) for emergency relief of the Ukrainian people.

Netflix is assessing the impact of the situation in Russia and Ukraine, according to people familiar with the matter.

A total of four Russian original dramas are currently in preparation, and the filming of a new crime drama directed by Dasha Zhuk has already started, but it was also stopped midway.

With 222 million subscribers, Netflix is available in more than 190 countries and territories around the world, including Russia and Ukraine.
