‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’ is more of a Minions compilation than a Gru prequel, wasting interesting ideas and comedic setups and replacing them with a disjointed, incoherent farcical gag This . It will probably only entertain babies in diapers, but it will be a chore for any viewer forced to understand its inert theatrical scenes and ’70s pop culture.
