“Your Name” “Weathering With You” director Shinkai Makoto directs and screens the new animated film “Suzume no Tojimari” for the first time.
“Suzume no Tojimari” is a road movie set on the ruins of various parts of Japan. It tells the story of a 17-year-old girl Suzume who meets a young man who is on a journey in search of a “door”.
Following in the footsteps of the youth, Suzume came to a land of ruins on the mountain, where an ancient door stood quietly, which seemed to be the only relic left in the collapse.
Suzume seemed to be attracted by something, and reached out to the door…
Soon after, doors across Japan began to open one by one.
It is said that the open door must be closed, otherwise disasters will come to this world from the side of the door.
Under the guidance of the mysterious door, Suzume embarked on a journey of closing the door.
“Suzume no Tojimari” will be released in Japan in the fall of 2022.
