Carol Burnett joins the Apple comedy series "Mr. and Mrs. American Pie" as Norma, a high society woman

Set in the early 1970s, “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie” revolves around Maxine Simmons’ (Wiig) attempts to take her place at America’s most exclusive table, the high society of Palm Beach.

As Maxine tries to straddle the unbridgeable line between the rich and the poor, the play raises questions that still baffle people today: Who gets a place at the top? How do you get a place? What will you sacrifice to achieve your goal?

Burnett plays Norma, a high society aristocrat who keeps many secrets about herself.
