‘ONE PIECE’ series latest theatrical version of ‘ONE PIECE FILM RED’ first weekend two days in Japan to harvest 2.25 billion yen box office, 1.57 million people to see the film, creating the most Japanese film opening weekend box office in 2022, but also the King of Thieves theatrical series in the first weekend box office.
This result also set the second highest opening weekend box office record in Japanese film history, after last year’s ‘Demon Slayer -Kimetsu No Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train’.
On August 7, ‘ONE PIECE FILM RED’ had a preview screening in Marseille, France, and nearly 120,000 people attended the movie, setting a record for the best opening day of a Japanese animated film ever in France.
The film is scheduled to be released in France on August 10.
ONE PIECE FILM RED’ is the 15th theatrical version of the King of Thieves series, and also its 25th anniversary.
The film was directed by Goro Taniguchi, written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, and integrally produced by the original author Eiichiro Oda, and was released in Japan on August 6.
The story takes place on an island where Uta, the world’s most popular and mysterious female singer, will perform in front of a crowd for the first time in public.
