Biopic "Benediction" released new poster, Jack Lowden turned into a battlefield poet

“Benediction” focuses on the famous anti-war poet Siegfried Sassoon. He was born into an upper-class family and volunteered to join the army before the outbreak of the First World War.

Later, because Siegfried Sassoon had witnessed too many cruel scenes and retired from the army, he chose to become a poet.

His poems showed Siegfried Sassoon’s anti-war stance, and he was also hotly discussed. He became the focus in the army and was loved by the London aristocracy and literary circles.

Siegfried Sassoon began to develop romances with some people. At the same time, he was crushed by the horrors of war and embarked on a journey of life seeking salvation.

In the end Siegfried Sassoon tried to achieve this through marriage and religious unanimity.

“Benediction” is directed by Terence Davies (“The Deep Blue Sea”, “A Quiet Passion”) and co-starred Peter Capaldi, Geraldine James, Kate Phillips, Gemma Jones, Anton Lesser, Jeremy Irvine and others.
