The all-star spy action film “Argylle” directed by Matthew Vaughn (“Kingsman”) debuts with Henry Cavill and Dua lipa, and it will be launched on Apple TV+.
Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, Rob Delaney and more also star.
Based on Ellie Conway’s novel of the same name, “Argylle” focuses on the story of “the world’s number one spy” Argyle, who is drawn into a global adventure.
It’s being produced by Matthew Vaughn’s production company, MARV Films, and planned as a series, with a screenplay by Jason DeMarco (“Wonder Woman”).
It tells the story of the heroine (Howard) who, because of amnesia, is persuaded to believe that she is a best-selling spy novelist, when in fact she is a world-class spy.
When her memories return, lethal skills come into play, leading her on a path of revenge against the mysterious organization she once worked for, the Division.
Rockwell is expected to play the former Division agent and Howard’s love interest.
Jackson is expected to play a villainous agent dedicated to uncovering corruption within a secretive spy network.
This is also Dua lipa’s film and television performance debut, and she will also write songs for the film.
