20th Century Pictures will restart the famous comic book adaptation film “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, with Justin Haythe (“Revolutionary Road‎”) as the screenwriter and original producer Don Murphy returning, and plans to launch Hulu.

Comic by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill, released in 1999, inspired by the 1960 British film “The League of Gentlemen”.

The film tells the story of the European continent being attacked by an evil force. The British government recruited seven talented people, including adventurer Allan Quatermain, female vampire Mina Harker, Mr. Edward Hyde, invisible man Rodney Skinner, immortal beautiful boy Dorian Gray, Captain Nemo, and American detective Tom Sawyer. The elite elite formed the “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” to fight against mysterious ghosts.

The 2003 film version starred Sean Connery, Naseeruddin Shah, Shane West, Jason Flemyng, Peta Wilson, Tony Curran, Stuart Townsend and grossed $179 million worldwide.
