According to media reports today, Mehran Karimi Nasseri, the lead character of Viktor in the 2004 DreamWorks Pictures film ‘The Terminal’ starring Tom Hanksberg, died on Nov. 12 at the Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle Airport in France. The Paris Airport Authority said Nasseri died at noon on the 12th at the airport terminal from a heart attack, the report said. Police and a medical team resuscitated him, but were unable to save his life.

Nasseri reportedly lived at the airport’s Terminal 1 from 1988 to 2006, early on getting into legal trouble for not having a residence permit, and then living at the terminal by personal choice.

In response to Nasseri’s death, some netizens said, “I just revisited ‘Happy Endings’ yesterday and never thought that the end of his life was still at the airport.”
