‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Review: A Lengthy and Runaway Reunion

Movie Review

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is not just the final chapter of the ‘Jurassic World’ series, but the final chapter of the entire series including ‘Jurassic Park’, so it is the grand finale of the collection. To take care of so many films and characters to make the grand finale, it was a grand cinematic action.

It’s also true that ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is longer than any other film in the Jurassic series. But the problem is not here, but in the audience expects the signature play dinosaur battle, it and the main story line of this film to create the expectation between the connection is not close enough, often distracted form and look tired.

And if you have not seen most of the Jurassic series of films, ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ plot and a plethora of characters will be a little hard to understand.

The plot of the new film is still largely an extension of the story and spirit of ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, but to debut the CP pair of Dr. Sattler and Dr. Grant, who debuted in ‘Jurassic Park’ in 1993, it was necessary to reconstruct the story line for them, laying out the behavioral motivations and psychological circuits — after all, 30 years have passed.

So the locust clue emerged, but the interaction between the two Doctors who had rebooted their love was often awkward.

As a plague of locusts sweeps the land and is creating a global food crisis, Sattler discovers that these locusts carry the genes of Cretaceous-era dinosaurs and discovers that they don’t eat Biosyn Biosynthesis’ crops.

So she found Grant and the two of them went to Biosyn in Italy to investigate.

So the film has two pairs of CP, at least four male and female protagonists, ‘Jurassic World’ inside the couple Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen (Chris Pratt) also undoubtedly made an appearance.

Owen is one of the few animal behaviorists who has mastered the art of communicating with dinosaurs. He is young, handsome, and bold, and the children love being with him.

It looks like he really likes to build cabins with his own hands, and in the Jurassic World series, he either lives in them or is building them, which makes him look very green and look like the kind of positive character who can take care of everything.

Owen is the Jurassic series will bring dinosaurs into the world of the human mind, as the final chapter of the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’, Owen like a cowboy in the West, on horseback and dinosaurs running wild, and can use the rope snare to catch the large dinosaurs.

Not surprisingly, Owen and Claire still live in a cabin with a girl named Maisie.

Maisie appeared in ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, she is actually the clone girl, that is, she empathized with the same cloned dinosaur in ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and released the dinosaur.

Not Claire but Maisie released the dinosaur, this setting feels very deep. Now frequenting their cabin, and Velociraptor Blue and her daughter Beta.

When Maisie and Beta are kidnapped by the wrong people, Owen and Claire search around and eventually find out that they have been transported to the Biosyn Corporation.

Then, the two pairs of CP finally had the opportunity to meet together in Italy, and the two story lines finally came together.

It’s an overly long reunion, and the unfolding of the two clues seems trivial, which affects the pace of the first half of the film.

Although there are frequently interspersed with the battle between people and dinosaurs and dinosaurs and dinosaurs, but the tension created by this part and the tension created by the main story line can not fit, so it is like a frequent commercial.

The film will show their newly built Pyroraptor one moment and Quetzalcoatlus, Giganotosaurus ……

The scene about the dragon itself is bound to be very exciting, but it’s like you’re watching the TV series ‘Hunter’ and suddenly interspersed with a clip of ‘Dinosaur Taskforce Koseidon’.

But Owen and Claire’s trip to Malta is really wonderful, while the fight with dinosaurs while driving to catch a plane paragraph is refreshing.

The part where the plane crashes into the frozen lake and Claire is catapulted into the jungle is also well designed, a relatively complete passage and perhaps the most impressive part of the film.

Dr. Henry Wu, who appears inside Biosyn Biosynthesis, is involved in both the manufacture of the locusts and the tying up of Beta and Maisie for research. He hopes to perfect his technology by studying the genetic program in them.

Chinese film star B.D. Wong, who plays Dr. Henry Wu, appears from ‘Jurassic Park’ as an expert in ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, where he develops the tyrannosaurus for the military, so he is being used by the military and capitalists He was used by the military and capitalists and lost the human spirit of scientific and technological intellectuals.

B.D. Wong, who is well known in the American stage theater world, is a bit of a techno-freak in the Jurassic series. In this latest film, he embarks on a confessional journey of his own.

It is his inside job with the charismatic mathematician Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) – who has also been around since the first Jurassic series – plus the efforts of Sattler and others, that stop the run of the evil tech company.

Dr. Henry Wu also succeeded in using genetic technology to exterminate the locusts, and although his characterization shifted from negative to positive, it still gave people a stereotypical feeling.

The above basically describes the framework of the story of ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’, some viewers complained that the locusts took the theme of the film away.

We can see that the screenwriter’s theme is more inclined to discuss the ethical issues of genes, and the core of the film seems to be less about dinosaurs and more about the “power of genes”.

In ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, Malcolm declares that humanity has entered a new era – “The power of genes is Pandora’s Box, and we are bringing about our own demise.”

In fact, in Spielberg’s earliest settings, the conflict between humanism and technological rationality is a main line, which runs through the entire Jurassic series.

This theme is also an important topic in today’s philosophical world, and perhaps this is an important reason why the series has maintained its contemporary sensitivity and philosophical character.

In this ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’, we can see a strong attitude of accepting the status quo and making peace with the cloned dinosaurs.

Maisie, the clone girl, is a character with whom the dinosaurs can most empathize. The film tries to weaken the ethical problems of cloning that exist in her, but ultimately fails to resolve them.

The world of ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is already a typical post-human era, where man no longer resides at the center of everything, but is simply one of the members of nature.

For this, the film even has a didactic meaning, it repeatedly emphasizes that we should respect all creatures in nature, and should establish a new model of relationship. But

The film’s dinosaurs no longer just stay in the dinosaur park, but scattered around, everywhere there is a killing crisis.

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ just throws us into a chaotic post-human era and space, and then abandons it.
