Warner to be in charge of “global” distribution of MGM films

News

According to Deadline, starting with ‘Bones & All’ in November this year, Warner will be responsible for the distribution of MGM films outside of Northern America (for the sake of narrative, it will be referred to as “global” distribution). The two sides signed a three-year agreement, and even the “distributorship” for Mainland China has been given to Warner.

Although MGM was acquired by Amazon, it still retains a certain degree of independence, and will still distribute its own films in Northern America theaters, while “global” distribution will be assigned to a different company.

The first four films in the Daniel Craig-starring James Bond series were distributed “worldwide” by Sony, and the fifth film was handed over to Universal Pictures last year.

The 26th Bond film will be played by someone else, according to the old agreement Universal continues to “global” distribution work, until the 27th Bond to Warner to take charge.

In addition to ‘Bones & All’, MGM’s next major productions include the Michael Bakari Jordan-directed ‘Creed III’.
