According to media reports, the untitled space action-adventure film starring Tom Cruise is expected to officially start filming in 2023.

Producer Universal Pictures is currently waiting for director Doug Liman and writer and producer Christopher McQuarrie to submit the script.

Some media reported in May 2020 that Tom Cruise will work with NASA and Elon Musk’s space exploration technology company to complete the shooting work in the sky.

A person familiar with the matter said that this is not a sci-fi movie, but an action-adventure movie.

Most of the content will be filmed on Earth, with one scene filmed on the International Space Station, and there may be scenes shot in a rocket.

Universal believes that the film will start after the completion of Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible 8” (released on June 28, 2024).
