Sandra Oh and Awkwafina co-star in the sister comedy film announced the start of filming, the film is expected to be killed on July 22, the release of next year.
The film, which has yet to be titled, also stars Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale and Will Ferrell at 20th Century Pictures. Ferrell is also producing, with Jessica Yu (“Grey’s Anatomy”) directing and Jen D ‘Angelo (“Workaholics”) wrote the screenplay.
The story follows Awkwafina as Anne, a smart but always nervous young woman obsessed with the famous game show “Jeopardy!” who now has to reunite with her estranged, messed-up sister (Sandra Oh) because their mother has gambling debts and they must team up to raise the money.
So the sisters embark on a wild ride across America, desperate to win enough money to pay off their debts, and the only way to do that is for our reluctant protagonist to become – a real “Jeopardy!” champion.
