Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel” North American Box Office Disastrous, “Halloween Kills” Wins Championship

Fans who like Ridley Scott may be sad. The costume action film “The Last Duel” directed by him and featuring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jodie Comer and Adam Driver suffered a fiasco at the North American box office.

“The Last Duel” only received $4.8 million at the box office in the first three days of the weekend, ranking fifth on the list.

Last weekend’s champion was the horror film “Halloween Kills”, which set a record for R-rated movies/horror films at the box office of $50.4 million during the epidemic.

The reputation of “The Last Duel” is actually not bad

According to foreign media reports, “The Last Duel” was produced by 20th Century Pictures with an investment of US$100 million. Such an opening result is undoubtedly disastrous.

According to the survey, 50% of the viewers of “The Last Duel” are over 35 years old, while only 27% of the champion “Halloween Kills”.

The film Rotten Tomatoes 86%, popcorn index 79%, “The Last Duel” reputation is not bad.

But young audiences don’t seem to like costume action movies, even though Ridley Scott has directed the best Oscar film “Gladiator” and the well-known “Kingdom of Heaven”.

Compared with “The Last Duel”, “Halloween Kills” with a Rotten Tomatoes index of only 40% performed unexpectedly.

“Halloween Kills” received $50.4 million to start painting with the simultaneous streaming media Peacock, far exceeding the $30 million expected.

Global North America Distribution Director said: “Our core audience just likes to be frightened together.”

It seems that when you encounter suitable movies, even if you can watch them at home, you are still willing to go into the theater to experience the group watching.

“007: No Time to Die” received $24.29 million in the box office last week, a 56% drop from the previous month.

Its North American box office has accumulated a total of 100 million U.S. dollars and a global accumulative total of 447 million U.S. dollars.

Last week foreign media disclosed that due to the high investment in the “007: No Time to Die” announcement fee, the world must get more than US$800 million in order to pay back.

“007: No Time to Die” will start painting in Mainland China on October 29.
