A24 will release its first musical movie, an R-rated musical comedy titled “F*cking Identical Twins”.
The cast is also interesting: Megan Thee Stallion, veteran Broadway musical actor Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”), Bowen Yang (“SNL”), and Larry Charles (“Borat” “Seinfeld”) directs.
Produced by Chernin Entertainment (“The Greatest Showman”) and co-financed with A24, which is responsible for worldwide distribution and Marius de Vries (“La La Land” “Moulin Rouge” “CODA”) as executive music producer.
The screenplay and some of the original songs from “The Opposition” comedians Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp are based on a 2014 show.
Described as “a subversive version of “The Parent Trap”, the story tells of a pair of business rivals who discover they are identical twin brothers and decide to switch identities in an attempt to reunite their divorced parents and reunite them as a family.
