“Choose or Die” is a retro-inspired survival horror film that offers some delightful fright to players who grew up with “The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns” and “Minotaur”.

But in the 1980s when horror movies were everywhere, it was just an extremely ordinary horror movie.
Audience panic is quickly replaced by a long, winding plot that takes obscure turns and doesn’t know what it’s trying to convey, the kind that only makes sense in a low-budget retro text adventure.
The actors’ performances are solid, but there’s nothing they can do to save the film. Game over, friends, game over.
