After Warner Bros. Discovery was founded, owner David Zaslav had said he was looking for someone like Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige to run DC.

Recently, James Gunn, director of Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ series, and Peter Safran, producer of ‘The Suicide Squad’, were named co-CEO of DC Studios to lead DC’s film, television and animation efforts.

However, according to reliable sources, Warner bosses approached Kevin Feige himself earlier this year to jump ship to run the DC universe, but Feige politely declined.

In the early years, it was Kevin Feige who hired James Gunn to direct the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trilogy for Marvel Studios. But now, James Gunn has inevitably become a rival with his former boss.

However, he tweeted that Feige was the first person he notified when he got his new job, that Marvel and DC are not in competition with each other, and that their common goal is to make the theater experience vibrant!
