Previously, we reported that Warner Bros. had decided to cancel the release of ‘Batgirl’ and confirmed that the film would not be released in theaters or on HBO Max. The film was shot in April this year, but this year’s newly formed Warner executives were not optimistic about the work, saying it was “not viable.

In a new self-produced talk show, Smith harshly condemned Warner Bros. for canceling the release of ‘Batgirl’.

He said that directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are very talented, so he could not find a reason to explain why the $90 million film was still cut after it was finished.

“It was a very bad decision to cancel ‘Batgirl,’ and the movie’s word-of-mouth won’t be bad, I can assure you.” Smith said on the show, “The two directors who directed the movie should have gotten more investment to make ‘Batgirl’ instead of making another episode of ‘Ms. Marvel’ or something like that.”

After the cancellation of ‘Batgirl’, the two directors were attacked by a variety of bad reviews, while many filmmakers in the industry have expressed their support.

Adil El Arbi has publicly thanked Marvel president Kevin Feige and director James Gunn for their support, and these comments are certainly in stark contrast to Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav’s previous attitude – the latter had implied that ‘Batgirl’ did not meet the criteria for a DC movie. The latter had hinted that ‘Batgirl’ did not meet the standards of DC film production.
