Universal Announces “Despicable Me 4” Released in North America on July 3, 2024

As the most famous animation series under Illumination Entertainment, “Despicable Me” has always been a hit product.

A few days ago, Lighting Entertainment confirmed to the outside world that “Despicable Me 4” will be released on July 3 in the summer of 2024. The film will continue to be voiced by Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig.

The plot of the film is currently unknown. However, according to the layout and character of the entire “Despicable Me” series, the film will continue to tell the story of Gru being the bad guy.

The “Despicable Me” series started in 2010 and tells the story with a super villain as the protagonist.

Among the currently released films, in addition to two sequels, there are also two spinoffs that tell the story of Minions, a total of 5 films.

In the plans of Universal, the parent company of Illumination Entertainment, more films will appear in the follow-up of “Despicable Me”.

The protagonist of the whole series, Gru, is a very bad, but very flavorful character.

Christopher Meledandri, president of producer Illumination Entertainment, said many stories always draw a clear line between good and evil.

After watching many of these films with his son, he found that when he left the theater, the villain was often the audience’s favorite.

So, Christopher Meledandri decided to make a movie. The prototype of Gru is a villain in the classic “007 series”.
