‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Sets Record in Worldwide First Week Boxoffice

As of the end of last Sunday, Marvel’s new film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” earned $265 million in its first week of box office in 49 overseas markets, 160% ahead of its predecessor.

The film grossed $185 million in Northern America, setting a new annual record, ahead of its predecessor by more than $100 million.

At present, the film has been shortlisted in the top three global box office in 2022 with a global first-week box office of 450 million US dollars, second only to “Batman” (762.4M) and “The Battle At Lake Changjin II” (609.7M).

DreamWorks Pictures animated film “The Bad Guys” Northern America grossed $9.77 million in its third weekend for a cumulative $57.57 million.

An additional US$7.2 million was collected overseas, with a cumulative total of US$90.6 million and a global total of US$148.1 million.

The fantasy adventure film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” Northern America starring Michelle Yeoh took in another $3.32 million over the weekend of its sixth week, a 40% drop from last weekend.

At present, the film Northern America has a cumulative box office of 41.566 million US dollars, making it the fourth highest-grossing film released by A24 in Northern America. The film has been confirmed to be released on May 17.

“Downton Abbey: A New Era‎” earned $6.6 million at the overseas box office in its second weekend, with a total of $22.3 million, including $9.79 million in the UK, $2.96 million in Australia, 1.97 million in France, 1.49 million in Germany, and 1.29 million in the Netherlands.
