Gyllenhaal’s new film “The Guilty” exposed stills, never “seen” the director throughout the filming

In 2018, Jake Gyllenhaal saw a Danish film “The Guilty” at the Sundance Film Festival. The whole film took place indoors and most of the time was a one-man show.

This movie made Gyllenhaal’s eyes shine. He immediately bought the American remake through his own production company and hired director Anthony Fouquay.

Now this new film “The Guilty” has exposed the first batch of stills and work photos. “The Guilty” announced that it will go live on Netflix on October 1, and will be released first in North American theaters on September 24.

The original “Den skyldige” was directed by Danish director Gustav Möller.

“The Guilty” tells that former police officer Asger Holm (now demoted to operator) received a call from a kidnapped woman. When the call was suddenly hung up, the search for that woman was officially launched.

This call is the only clue. The police officer needs to race against time to save her from danger.

However, he gradually realized that the case he was dealing with was much more complicated than he thought.

Gyllenhaal told the media that before the shooting of “The Guilty” in the spring of 2020, someone around Antoine Fuqua was infected with the new crown virus.

Although Antoine Fuqua’s nucleic acid test was negative, in order to ensure safety, the crew got a caravan a block away from the set.

During the filming of “The Guilty”, director Antoine Fuqua used video connection software and walkie-talkie to guide the actors in filming on the RV.

Gyllenhaal and Antoine Fuqua never faced each other at close range during the filming of “The Guilty”.

When having to communicate, Gyllenhaal would climb up a staircase, Antoine Fuqua opened the window of the RV, and the two people shouted from a distance…
