The 94th Academy Awards announced the nominations last night. Streaming media leader Netflix became the biggest winner. The media also summarized some other interesting numbers:
With 27 nominations, Netflix is the most nominated film company.
Ranked second is Disney Group (including 20th Century, Marvel, etc.) with a total of 23 nominations, and Warner Bros. ranked third with 16 nominations.

Universal’s Focus Pictures got 7 and Neon got 6.
Apple Streaming also received 6 nominations, and “CODA” was the company’s first work to be nominated for Best Picture.
“The Power of the Dog” led the way with 12 nominations, “Dune” was second with 10, “Belfaste” and “West Side Story” tied for third with seven, and “King Richard” came in fifth with six.
“Licorice Pizza,” produced and distributed by MGM, was nominated for best picture, after “Rain Man” in 1988. The film is also the first film to be nominated for best picture among the films released by United Artists.
Drive My Car is the first Japanese film to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
“Belfaste” director Kenneth Branagh has been nominated for seven Oscars so far in seven different categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actor Supporting Actor and Best Live Action Short.
Seven of the 10 Best Picture nominations were released by traditional studios, two were from Netflix and one was an international film, Drive My Car.
“The Power of the Dog” director Jane Campion is the first woman to be nominated twice for best director.
