“Scream 5” ends “Spider-Man: No Way Home” winning streak

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” surpasses “Black Panther” at the North American box office, “Scream 5” ends it’s road to consecutive championships.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” lost to new film “Scream 5” in North America last weekend, failing to complete its 5th straight title.

But the film will rank fourth in film history with $704 million after the four-day Martin Luther King Day holiday.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” has grossed $1.625 billion worldwide, and it remains at No. 8 in film history, $35 million away from No. 7 “The Lion King.”

“Scream 5”, which opened on January 14, is a big IP in the horror film field, and it restarted 25 years after the first episode was released.

“Scream 5” pulled in $30.6 million over the weekend, shattering “Spider-Man: No Way Home”‘s five-peat dream.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” took in $20.8 million in its fifth weekend, and about $26 million for its four-day vacation.

Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda’s new animated film “Belle: The Princess of Dragons and Freckles” ranked fifth at the North American box office with $1.64 million in its opening weekend, and its global total was $59.93 million.
