Nicolas Cage says he has paid off all his debts

There have been reports that Nicolas Cage squandered $150 million in property, owed the IRS $6.3 million in property taxes, and embarked on the road to starring in pay-per-view movies in order to pay off the debt.

In a recent interview with GQ, Cage responded directly to this question, “All the creditors and the IRS are chasing me, and I’m spending $20,000 a month trying to keep my mother out of the mental hospital, all at the same time.”

Cage revealed that he had been proposed to file for bankruptcy, but Cage refused, and began to act in pay-per-view movies to pay off his debts.

Still, Cage believes that even when he’s making four films a year, he’s really committed to each one. “None of these films were successful, none of them. Some of them were great, like ‘Mandy‎’.”

Cage feels that the public has always had a misunderstanding, thinking that he is blindly accepting films and doesn’t care what he is doing. He said that he actually cares a lot.

According to GQ, Cage has officially “paid off all of his debts” after signing on to star in “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” a year and a half ago.

The film is starred by Cage’s true character, and currently has a 100% freshness on Rotten Tomatoes. It is a must-see movie for Cage fans (including those who have loved it).

Cage also said that he hasn’t acted in big studio movies for a long time, because those companies have stopped coming, “You said we don’t make ‘National Treasure 3‎’? It’s been 14 years, why not?”

He also mentioned, “‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice‎’ was unsuccessful, and ‘Ghost Rider‎’ didn’t do well at the box office, as well as ‘Drive Angry 3D‎’, all of which became a thing of the past.”

In Cage’s view, “National Treasure 3‎” is still out of reach for him, and suggests that Disney is putting it behind him when his career is in the doldrums.

However, he is also relieved, saying that he enjoys making independent films more. “I prefer to make works like ‘Pig’ and ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ compared to blockbusters like ‘National Treasure’.”
