Korean box office: ‘The Pirates: Goblin Flag’ tops two weeks in a row, ‘Kingmaker’ close behind

The latest Korean box office charts are released, and “The Pirates: Goblin Flag” once again topped the box office with a market share of over 40%.

The latest Korean box office charts are released, and “The Pirates: Goblin Flag” once again topped the box office with a market share of over 40%.

A sequel to “The Pirates”, the film tells the epic adventure story of a group of righteous thieves and pirates who gather at sea in order to become the masters of lost royal treasures.

“The Pirates: Goblin Flag” attracted 160,000 viewers in its second weekend of release, surpassing the 1 million cumulative audience mark.

The Korean drama “Kingmaker” maintained its runner-up position with a market share of 27.7%. The film is directed by Sung-hyun Byun and starring Kyung-gu Sol, Seon-gyun Lee and others.

“Kingmaker” tells the story of the ups and downs of the 1960s and 1970s between a politician who opposes dictatorships, hopes for democracy, and dreams of president, and the genius strategist behind him, a man known as Kingmaker, who stirs up the election situation.

“Kingmaker” drew more than 100,000 viewers this past weekend.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” remained unchanged at No. 3 on the list. It still maintained more than 10% of the box office market in the eighth weekend of its release in South Korea, which shows the super popularity of this film.

The cabaret animated film “Sing 2” continued to rank fourth on the list, with 30,000 viewers watching the film over the weekend and a cumulative audience of more than 800,000.

The Korean local cartoon “Hello Jadoo: The Secret of Jeju Island” ranked fifth on the list unchanged, with a market share of 4.2%, the same as last week, and was loved by children.

The crime thriller “House Of Gucci” continued to stay on the list, with a cumulative audience of 134,000.

Matthew Vaughn’s action-adventure film “The King’s Man” climbed back to seventh on the list. The film has been released in South Korea for more than a month, and its market share has fallen to less than 1%.

The South Korean action crime movie “Special Delivery” dropped to No. 8 on the list. Only 3,679 viewers chose to watch the film in its fourth weekend of release, and the box office performance was not very satisfactory.

The Danish film “The Alcohol Project” continued to rank ninth on the list with a slight difference, and the film’s market share was even better than “Special Delivery”.

Crime movie “The Policeman’s Lineage” returned to No. 10, with 2,436 viewers opting to go into theaters to watch the film.
