Japanese film “Drive My Car” won the Oscar, Takeshi Kitano: Next time I will also go to win a few awards

From the nominations of major film awards at the end of last year, the annual film list to the Oscars that just ended this year, the film “Drive My Car” directed by Japanese director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi can be said to have won a lot, and won the praise of many media film critics.

This year’s Oscar “Drive My Car” won the Best International Film Award. Well-known director Takeshi Kitano was also asked in a recent interview about the film’s winning views.

Takeshi Kitano said: “(Oscar) has always been a white-centric film award, and recently it has also begun to recognize Asian works, which is very exciting. Next time I will also go to win a few awards.”

Takeshi Kitano is a well-known Japanese director, actor, and TV presenter.

In 1989, he directed and starred in his debut film “Violent Cop”, which won the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Rookie Awards at the Japan Film Awards that year.

In 2001, he starred in the last work “バトル・ロワイアル‎” directed by Kinji Fukasaku before his death.

In 2003, Takeshi Kitano won the best director award at the Venice Film Festival for “Zatoichi”.
