In 2021, the annual box office in North America is 4.4 billion U.S. dollars, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” breaks into the top 10 of North American film history

On the last weekend of North America in 2021, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” won three consecutive titles with a box office of 52.7 million U.S. dollars. It entered the top ten in North American film history with a cumulative total of 610 million U.S. dollars.

“Sing 2” ranked second at the box office of $19.6 million, and “The King’s Man” ranked third at the box office of $4.5 million.

“American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story” ranked fourth at the box office of $4.07 million.

“The Matrix 4” ranked fifth at the box office of $3.82 million.

The annual box office in North America in 2021 is approximately US$4.4 billion, which is more than double the US$2.1 billion in 2020.

But this is still 61% less than in 2019 before the epidemic, and the recovery is slow.

In the shadow of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, the performance of other films is not so eye-catching.

Due to the late start of child vaccination in the United States, the box office of Family Fun movies has been dragged down.

“Sing 2” collected $19.6 million in box office in the second weekend, with a cumulative total of $89.7 million and a cumulative global box office of $144 million.

We must know that in 2016, the North American box office of “Sing” reached 270 million U.S. dollars, and its global box office was even more than 634 million U.S. dollars.

It will take a long time to restore the glory of the past.

“The King’s Man” only got $4.5 million in the box office in the second weekend. At present, its North American box office has accumulated $19.5 million and the global box office has accumulated $47.8 million.

In 2017, the North American box office of “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” was 100 million U.S. dollars, and its global box office was as high as 410 million U.S. dollars.

“The Matrix 4” was also disappointing. The box office for the second weekend fell 68% from last week. It only got $3.8 million in box office and ranked fifth on the list.

At present, the North American box office of the film has accumulated 30.9 million U.S. dollars and the global box office is 106 million U.S. dollars.

22 years ago, “The Matrix” North American box office of 171 million US dollars, the global cumulative total of 466 million US dollars.

“The Matrix 4” will land in mainland China on January 14. I don’t know how much it will help the final box office.
