Ariane Labed, Christopher Abbott and Mackenzie Davis to star in new film “Swimming Home‎”

Ariane Labed, Christopher Abbott, Mackenzie Davis will star in the new film “Swimming Home‎”, and Justin Anderson (“Planet Earth”) will be directing a feature-length feature for the first time.

Based on the Booker Award-nominated novel by Deborah Levy, “Swimming Home‎” follows a troubled couple on vacation with their teenage daughter, whose lives are changed by naked strangers floating in the pool of their villa.

The novel is set in the summer of 1994, and the acclaimed poet Joe Jacobs and his wife Isabel, daughter Nina and their friends Mitchell and Laura are vacationing at their summer house in the south of France.

Tranquility is shattered when Joe’s fan, Kitty, shows up, and her obsession and sexual attraction to Joe is obvious, but Isabel invites her to stay.

Isabel, a foreign correspondent whose work has repeatedly kept her away from her family, has come to tolerate Joe’s continued infidelity.

At the same time, Kitty’s psychological problems are becoming more and more obvious, and the only one who dares to solve the problem is Nina. Towards the end, Kitty appears to be about to kill herself, but in the end it is Joe who kills himself.

It turns out that Kitty’s mental problems are just a reflection of Joe’s deeper-rooted depression.
