Too much damage! ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler: I almost left the industry after Chadwick Boseman died

Recently, ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler said in an interview about the death of ‘Black Panther’ actor Chadwick Boseman, “I was like, I’m leaving the industry. I don’t know if I can make another movie, let alone another Black Panther movie, because the damage was too great. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to open up to that feeling again.”

After Boseman’s death in August 2020 due to illness, Coogler recalled the time he spent with Boseman and what the Marvel character meant to him.

Ryan Coogler added, “I recalled many of our conversations carefully, and I realized that his life was coming to an end. I think it makes more sense to move on.”

“My job as a filmmaker is to do what I personally believe in,” Coogler said. “If I don’t believe in what I’m doing, I’ll have a hard time getting others to do their best. At the end of the day, the choices we make have to be in line with our hearts, and if filmmakers make something they don’t even like themselves, the project must have no chance of success.”

Now that ‘Black Panther : Wakanda Forever’ has become a reality, the movie was made in honor of Boseman, and the director mentioned that they never considered replacing someone to play Black Panther.

‘Black Panther : Wakanda Forever’ will be released in Northern America on November 11.
