“Texas Chainsaw Massacre” Review: A simple sequel of crude and classic killing, it is bloody thrills!

The movie “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is a slaughter horror film jointly launched by Netflix and Legendary Pictures.

The film will be launched in February 2022, directed by David Blue Garcia, and the main actors include Sarah Yarkin, Elsie Fisher, Mark Burnham, Jacob Latimore, etc.

The plot of the film tells the story of “Melody” and his sister and friends who came to the “Harlow Town” in Texas.

They wanted to restore life to the deserted town, but here they encountered the notorious “Chainsaw Massacre”. While the plan was ruined, they also had to try to escape the clutches of the murderer.

Ashamed to say, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” has always been a very well-known IP in B-grade films, but I haven’t seen one in the past.

Therefore, this 2022 sequel is my first official contact with the series, so this article will be written from the perspective of a “new audience” and will not be compared with past works.

As for watching, I personally think that “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is a simple and easy-to-understand torture movie even if you haven’t seen the previous work.

Although it seems to have a little connection with the previous movies, the overall impact is not large, and the plot is still clear.

So in all fairness, is this movie worth watching? I think it’s ok.

“Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is undoubtedly a bloody, tense, thrilling horror movie that, without expecting much, is surprisingly entertaining.

It may be that this film is co-produced by Netflix and Legendary Pictures, so the quality and pacing are not bad.

Compared to Netflix’s own original works, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is indeed on the level of a horror film.

Maybe it’s because I’ve watched too many thunder films recently, so I naturally lowered the acceptance threshold of online movies, so I feel satisfied after watching this film after a long absence.

Looking back on last year’s “There’s Someone Inside Your House”, “Intrusion”, “Night Teeth” and other horror movies launched by Netflix, none of them escaped the dilemma of “messy and dazzling”.

And “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is simple and rude. It takes a few minutes to lay out and you chase me for most of the page. There is no need to discuss the thickness of the script at all. The picture and atmosphere alone are enough to arouse the audience’s curiosity.

The film currently has a score of 4.8 on MDB, which is average for a movie of the same type.

Some reviewers expressed skepticism when they learned that director David Blue Garcia was planning a sequel to “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” in 2022.

Because of the precedent of the 2017 Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel “Leatherface”, everyone has long dared not have too high expectations for the series.

But in fact, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is really interesting and innovative, and one of the scenes of torture on the bus is worth watching as a good movie.

I think “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, as a popcorn movie to unwind on the weekends, is really worth watching.

Overall, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is a simple but entertaining movie, and as a B-movie it’s not only about the quality, but the cast is pretty good too.

Although this type of movie is inevitably full of things that make people want to complain, but since they are all boldly clicked to watch, I think most audiences should pursue “excitement” rather than “logic” in them.

So purely from the perspective of a slaughter-type horror movie, the level of blood and tension in this film still has a certain level.

As a viewer of horror movie series like “Saw” and “Final Destination”, this time “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” I give a positive review.
