Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96, a generation of legends finally ends

Queen Elizabeth II died in the afternoon of September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96, according to the BBC.

Queen Elizabeth II was born in London on April 21, 1926, assumed the throne on February 6, 1952, and was crowned on June 2, 1953, reigning for over 70 years.

From Sir Winston Churchill to Elizabeth Truss, the Queen has seen 15 British prime ministers during her reign, and in 2015 she became the longest-serving British monarch in history, breaking the record set by her great-great-grandmother, Alexandrina Victoria.

The new king will be known as ‘King Charles III’, Clarence House confirmed on 8 August.

As a public figure in history, the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the British royal family has been the inspiration for films and TV shows including: ‘The woman King’, ‘Bertie and Elizabeth’, ‘Queen & Country’, ‘Spencer’, ‘The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! Queen Elizabeth II and James Bond

In addition to different film and television productions that attempt to recreate the legendary life of Queen Elizabeth II, she herself has also been “exposed to film”.

At the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, the then 86-year-old Queen held hands with James Bond (Daniel Craig) for a short film, and also used a stunt double to perform the “Queen’s parachute jump” scene that amazed the world.
