“Moonlight Knight” is like the original Iron Man, a new hero created from scratch by Marvel!

While many old faces have left the MCU, the latest instalment also introduces audiences to some new ones, including Kate Bishop, Shang-Chi, and Moon Knight due out at the end of the month.

In the latest Disney press release, “Moon Knight” executive producer Grant Curtis revealed that the series will not be added to the current MCU.

Curtis stated that Moon Knight is like the original Iron Man and Tony Stark of the MCU, a new hero that Marvel has built from the ground up:

“Moon Knight has us inside Marvel so excited, what’s unique about this character is that he’s like the roots of the MCU — Iron Man and Tony Stark — a character that’s been built from the ground up, and so is Marc Spector.”

He went on to describe how Moon Knight would adapt the supernatural aspects of the comics, including the Egyptian god Kongsu:

“We adapted the supernatural realm aspect of the comics, the Egyptian gods, the Egyptian god Kongsu manipulating Marc. We adapted the story, and we love what’s going on these nights.”

Curtis said that Moon Knight has nothing to do with the current MCU, he is a brand new character with a brand new adventure:

“There’s no connection to the current MCU. He’s brand new, he’s on a brand new adventure, and we think audiences will love him.”

What Curtis means is that Moon Knight will not currently be involved in any of the interconnected stories being built in the MCU, the focus right now is on telling the story of a whole new superhero, but that doesn’t mean Moon Knight won’t be in the MCU in the future, recently There are rumors that Hulk may appear in the show, and Moon Knight is likely to appear in the Halloween special “Werewolf By Night”.

Moon Knight will premiere on Disney+ on March 30, 2022.
