Former National Football League (NFL) player Steve Gleason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as gradual freezing, when he was only 34 years old. However, two weeks later, his wife found out that she was pregnant.

So, Steve began to record the birth of his son, the life of the Gleasons, and the development of his illness with images. As the child was born and grew up, Steve became weaker and weaker until he was completely paralyzed from the neck down and lost the ability to speak.

Although he was terminally ill, Steve never gave up the hope of life. He also founded charity organizations and funds in his own name to improve and help other patients with frostbite.

Gradual freezing is a devastating neurological disease. Patients will gradually lose the ability to speak until they cannot breathe. At present, there is no cure for gradual freezing, but the development of modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, will help and improve the quality of life of patients.
